What are you looking forward most from GenerationS book?

I joined HOGC since April 2021, and heard stories from the leaders about the 9 stones and how HOGC grow from year 1999. Glad that I am able to be here for the ‘GenerationS’ book launch. 😊 Really looking forward to reading the book written by Pastor How and Pastor Lia to find out more about how they co-lead the strong church, build the youths and all the behind-the-scenes stories. 😊

As a member of HOGC who has only joined in the past 1-2 years, I am really looking forward to reading GenerationS to find out inside details on how HOGC was founded. Am also keen to read on the perspectives of both Pastor How and Pastor Lia, and I am aware that this book is well planned and a lot of effort has been put in not only in the heart behind the messages but also in the production, so am keen on reading a book that is excellent in many ways. Am very sure that the insights contained within the book from SPs and even from Rinnah are priceless and contains the revelation of God to SPs, and for that reason I also believe that this book is a celebration. Surely, this milestone of HOGC is amazing and it can only be the work of God! So, more than anything, I am keen to find out how God has worked through SPs, pastors, leaders and even the members of the church in the creation and evolution of HOGC for the past 22 years. Am also keen to read the book in order to find out how to inculcate, build and fortify a relationship with the Lord that lasts not only one generation, but many, and even after our lifetime (GenerationS).

Having only become a regular in HOGC within the past year, I was absolutely stoked when I found out that SP Lia and yourself were working on the manuscript to a book! And it is not just any book! It is The Book which promises the thoughts in your hearts, and charts the journey of a dream to build a world-class youth church that is our HOGC today! It is so amazing that we can still experience HOGC’s first 22 years of history through your perspectives! I am sure that I can proudly declare after I have finished reading the book that I no longer “suffer” from FOMO!

I also love the idea behind, that the book will not only help us to look back at HOGC’s humble beginnings, but will also serve as reminder to our children and our children’s children to never take the House of God for granted! Your words will span generations, and that it only because both yourself and SP Lia have been living testimonies of GenerationS! Honestly, I get so mind-blown every time I think of that!

I have heard a lot about how every small detail of the book, from the alignment of words to the truncation, is so well thought through. I am a lover of words myself, and I really appreciate when the words in the books that I read don't end up with "distorted" hyphens after every other line! Maybe it's me - I'm a little OCD, but I am very amazed how you and SP Lia even thought of that too! Truly, it's the small details that make a great difference, and I know that GenerationS is going to be great!

I can’t wait to get my hands on the book and am looking forward to reading it (all in one seating, but over and over again – confirm plus chop possible)!

I am looking forward to... the heritage, the journey, the insights and the heart behind why both you and SP LIA decided to build a house with GenerationS in mind!

Although there are so many excerpts from the website, these are really not enough! So amazed that the average age of church members is still 21 years old, although the church is already 22 years old :) I want to see first hand from the book itself, the thoughts that both of you have in mind and the heart for everyone of us!

Christmas 2019 was the first time I attended HOGC service and I was planted in church in 2020. I didn’t get the opportunity to attend many services before we transitted to On Air service. Thankfully, my leaders always share with me the history and wow stories of HOGC. 

I’m looking forward to the upcoming book, GenerationS! I believe it’ll reveal the history of HOGC and give me a greater understanding of the heart behind building up a youth church. I accepted Christ when I was 14 years old and looking back, I see the importance of having a supportive church environment for youths to grow up in. Definitely want to make a positive impact to the youths today too! I believe there will be so much to learn from SP How and SP Lia.

I can't wait for the launch of GenerationS. SPs' heart and believing in Generations are the main reasons that caused me to be planted in HOGC, followed by the worship atmosphere. SPs' patience and love for the youth have guided me and given me a better perspective on how to raise my little girl who is almost 4 years old now. I want to share with her about how our SPs and HOGC believe and help to grow the generations. I'm so moved by SPs' thought of opening up the church for the youths to study, do their projects and even academic excellence to help up the youths with their exams.
